  • Coggins Tests
    • All of state horses must have a current negative Coggins Test dated within six (6) months of the show dates, before entering the show grounds.
    • To speed processing, please send a copy with your entries
    • Health Certificates for all out of state horses may be i
      nspected 

 

  • Each equine brought into the state of Ohio
    • Shall be accompanied by a certificated of veterinary inspection issued at the point of origin immediately prior to entering Ohio, certifying that they have been given careful, clinical inspection and been found free of symptoms of any dangerously infectious, contagious, communicable disease or known exposure thereto.
      Rectal temperatures at time of examination must be recorded on the certificate of veterinary inspection and;
    •  If twelve months of age or more, shall be accompanied by evidence that the identified animal was negative to an official test for the disease, equine infectious anema, conducted by a laboratory approved by the United States Department of Agriculture.  This test must have been conducted within the twelve-month period preceeding the date of importation into Ohio
    •  All equine imported into Ohio from a state where the existence of the disease, Venezuelan Equine Encephalmyelities (VEE) has been confirmed within the proceeding twelve months prior to the date fo importation inot Ohio shall have been vaccinated against VEE, by a licensed and accredited veterinarian, not less than fourteen days and no more than twelve months proceeding the date of importation and shall be subject to the inspectation and quaratine upon arrival at destination

Sharps 


Competition management shall place a minimum of one sharps container per each competition whether or not stabling is provided.  Additionally, at least one sharps container per fifty occupied stalls for the disposal of needles and other disposable sharp instruments in convenient locations in barns housing competitions horses.  it is  competition management's responsibility to replace such containers when full and dispose of the properly.  Competition management may fine any individuals including trainers, owners, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments.
